  Abstract:
  Results of simulations are presented that make use of a recently proposed model for non-ideal ohmic contacts. The model considers both tunneling and thermionic emission currents across the contact. The nonlinearity of the contact resistance is discussed. The two-dimensional current distribution under the contact arising from doping variations is investigated. It is shown that slight doping variations can result in strong current inhomogenities.

  Abstract:
  In this paper we present a parallel 3D device simulator on a MIMD-machine. We havei nvestigated the efficiency of a parallel implementation, especially for the fine-grained parallelized iterative linear solvers like ILU-BCG. As a result we have found that an efficient employment of some 10 processors is possible on a MIMD-computer with the same convergence behaviour as on an adequate large sequential computer.

  Abstract:
  In this paper we present a prototype design environment utilizing a schema independent programming interface combined with a common design data schema to tightly integrate design tools form the domains Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and Technology CAD (TCAD). The advantages gained from the insulation of design data manipulation and design data presentation on a fine-grain level as well as the impact on the tool integration process are discussed. The common design data schema enables interoperability of design tools from the EDA and TCAD domains.
